While she was at her own french naturalization ceremony, the author and theater director Alexandra Badea was told by the civil registar: “From this very moment, you should come to terms with French history - with its greatness as much as the shadows of his past”. How to smooth historical situations such as colonialism, collaboration with german enemy during the Second World War…. These “points of non-return” sometimes approached in family meals are sources of injury and divide French society. As in all the best tales, everything starts with a love story. During the frenetic years of Pompidou’s government, post may 68, two young people fall in love. Both carry a heavy historical burden. One is made of the situation in post-war central Europe, the other made of issues of post-colonialist Africa. Alexandra Badea and her actors give the floor to the voices of people we never hear to go through the modern history of France.
