Un chagrin ça attend patiemment son heure. Nous y sommes.

Wajdi Mouawad

All birds has its source in the encounter between a Quebec author of Lebanese origin living in France and a Jewish historian who contributed to the fame of a Muslim diplomat who was forcibly converted to Christianity and who enabled a whole continent to discover the vision that an African had of his native country. This is an encounter with the absolute idea of the Other. After questioning his responsibility and that of his fellow citizens in stories that portray the Lebanese civil war, Wajdi Mouawadtries, with All birds, to go beyond the red line he has always set himself, to write the pains of the enemy.

Dynamited by the violence of the world, the intimate story of Eitan, a young German scientist of Israeli origin confronted with a violent conflict with his father, shows how, in fratricidal struggles, no reality can dominate another. Every conflict conceals a labyrinth where the frightful monster of forgotten heritages goes.
